Boosting Your Immune System, Natural Supplements We Should All Be Using
I apologize for my late response to the questions regarding boosting the immune system, with Covid-19 and the Coronavirus scare, I've been gathering as much information as I possibly could before making a post.
I, like many others, have been terrified of the unknown. I do not know of nor do I have the cure for the Coronavirus.
I do know, that the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention(1) lists those most at risk as:
"People of ANY age who have serious underlying medical conditions."
I also know that we ALL need to follow the measures listed by the World Health Organization (2)
Wash Your Hands Frequently
Maintain Social Distancing
Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose, and Mouth
Practice Respiratory Hygiene (Cover Your Mouth and Nose When Sneezing)
If You Have Fever, Cough And Difficulty Breathing, Seek Medical Early
With that being said, it's time to look at how we can boost our bodies natural defense system, the immune system.
Nutriciaresearch.com (3) states, "The immune system protects us from disease caused by bacteria, VIRUSES and toxins, and helps remove foreign bodies and malignant cells from our system."
At this point in time, many "experts" are "guesstimating" just how long this Coronavirus will last. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with being hopeful, it's of the opinion (4) that "Americans are underestimating how long Coronavirus disruptions will last."
I, like many others, have been touched by this pandemic due to the facts:
My home state of Michigan is third among Coronavirus related deaths. (5)
My family has personally been impacted by the effects of the Coronavirus.
My best friend in the world has an autoimmune disease and her health is of the upmost importance to me.
It is paramount that we educate ourselves on the virus, (all facts in this article are properly sourced and can be found in the cited sources section) and give our bodies the best chance to fight off the virus if we are exposed.

The #1 Supplement To Boost Your Immune System- Black Seed Oil
If I could only offer my closest family and friends, ONE product to boost their immune system during this time of need it would be Black Seed Oil without a doubt.
Before the Coronavirus, Gerrod Huggins (founder of Grow Holistik) and I covered the benefits of black seed oil in depth. The article, The Mysterious Death Of Dr. Sebi & The Benefits Of Black Seed Oil, would go on to be one of our top read articles of 2019.
Health First Network (6) notes black seed oil is "taken as an antioxidant supplement or an alternative to other antibacterial, ANTIVIRAL, or IMMUNE-ENHANCING herbals."
Medical News Today (7) attributes much of the power of black seed oil, to it's unique anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory compound thymoquinone.
This is extremely important to note because the black seed oil shown above has much higher levels of thymoquinone than found in standard health stores.
Black Seed Oil from the Blessed Seed comes in 4 different strengths:
Extra Strong (Over 6X more potent than most brands)
Strong ( 4x more powerful than most brands)
Mild (For infants or children)
In addition to being our #1 Immune System Booster, Healthline (8) lists the benefits of Black Seed Oil as:
Reducing High Blood Pressure
Reducing High Cholesterol
Improving Rheumatoid Arthritis
Decreasing Asthma Symptoms
Reducing Upset Stomach
It's easy to see why Black Seed oil has become a top natural supplement and why so many people are taking it.
The #2 Supplement To Boost Your Immune System- Probiotics
If you happen to be a subscriber to Guide Your Health (if not, you can click here to subscribe) you may recall us covering probiotics as well as gut health in the articles, The Best Time To Take Probiotics, as well as, Stop Counting Calories To Lose Weight, Try This!
We work hand in hand with Jarrow Formulas and do large probiotic giveaways often.
The reason we love to give away free probiotics so often is because it's a great experience to people who do not realize the benefits of gut health. Gut health is much more than weight loss.
Todays Dietitan (9) states, "Inside the gut are about 100 trillion live microorganisms that promote G.I. function, PROTECT THE BODY FROM INFECTION, regulate metabolism and the mucousal immune system."
What are these 100 trillion live microorganisms? Probiotics, of course.
Our gut health is determined by the ratio of good to bad bacteria. This good bacteria is supplied in abundance by a quality probiotic.
The University Of Harvard (10) recently published an article stating 3 main benefits to Probiotics.
IMPROVED IMMUNE FUNCTION.
Protect against hostile bacteria to prevent infection.
Improved digestion and absorption of nutrients.
Are all probiotics created equal? Absolutely not.
In fact, after managing a health store for several years, I don't trust store bought probiotics much at all.
Due to the fact that Jarrow Formulas Cool-Ship probiotics come directly to your home insulated by resealable ice packs wrapped in cotton fiber, Jarrow ensures you are getting the quality of product you are looking for. Store bought probiotics can not offer the same assurance.
There are many more natural immune boosters other than Black Seed Oil and Probiotics, however, I hold them in my 1A and 1B supplements to take.
Evidence found at Original Harvest Kratom (11) suggests that Kratom's alkaloids boost the immune system.
Isomitraphylline: may also serve as an anti-leukemic agent
Isopteropodine: primarily an immunostimulant
Isorhynchopylline: primarily an immunostimulant
Mitraphylline: non-narcotic; also antihypertensive, and a diuretic and muscle relaxant
While there are many products that claim to boost the immune system, these unique immune boosters have the ability to help to protect us and our family members.
